The Potential of Accessing the Inner Healing Intelligence

I find the idea of the human body’s natural and intelligent ability to heal itself becomes quite apparent in the administration of Ketamine. Through yet unknown processes, the body seems to possess an inherent and intuitive knowledge of how to best heal itself from any ailment; mental or physical. We tend to be more acquainted with the physical regenerative properties and would likely take that physical property as the end of the body’s capability. But it would appear that there exists a similar principle in relation to mental wounds or requirements for healing. This intuitive knowledge seems to be blocked by the very manifestation of the problem itself; mental wounds occur within the context of mental processes and cognition. Trying to understand the mind’s wounds from within the wound would be akin to trying to empty water from a boat using a net instead of a bucket; the tools employed do not fit what the job required. Psychedelics play a niche role here in their ability to circumnavigate and bypass the various defensive structures of the mind, set up for the very intention of protecting the rest of the mind from this challenging wound. By applying a proper dosage of chemical catalyst, we can break down the defense structures and begin the process of repairing wounds through a similar process of healing a paper cut.

The machinations of the mind seem to work in complete mystery, but upon second glance, there appears to be an intelligent design and autonomy of which it can employ. Of course, the constraints of normal consciousness are in and of itself a feat of great intelligence and design, but the intuitive nature seems to hold a slightly different spark. Where normal consciousness is used as a navigational tool for our immediate physical and sensuous surroundings, altered states of consciousness tend to take on an element of theatrical play with thoughts, feelings, and indeed the normal sensations are no longer perceived as such. Whether it is the medicine that creates these perceptive changes, or that the medicine catalyzes the mind into a state of higher functioning, seems of little relevance. The fact remains, the mind seems to have different levels at which it is capable of operating. Perhaps it would be apt of us to remove the term ‘higher’ or ‘elevated’ consciousness from the discussion, and instead focus on the attributes of the different types of mind; seeing, healing, feeling, knowing, the mental and cognitive faculties that create consciousness are each impacted differently by different stimuli (medicine or other).

Through psychedelic assisted therapy we can hope to employ these higher faculties of the mind; those of healing, intuition, divine direction, and peace. The notion of being able to provide a depressed, anxious, suicidal, or active substance use one of the above feels to be a tool worth exploring.

This great mystery should not be discouraging, but instead exciting. The human mind, with which these words are written, is not fully understood by those who use it, and perhaps never will be. Perhaps there will always be some aspect of unknowns, unknowable in the distance, outside our perception. Wherever those unseen mysteries lie, we must surely follow. Down the path least traveled, towards the truth we all feel within. The bright and shinning light of conscious awareness has a beginning and end, we need only get there from the middle that we find ourselves in.

There is too great a deal of mental suffering in the people of earth these days. Countless minds plagued by traumatic experiences, challenging emotions, and facing outwards towards a cruel and seemingly indifferent society.

It is likely/possible that these spaces, which we can be afforded access to by psychedelics and other forms of intuitive practices, hold many of the answers to questions such as; who are we, where are we headed, what is our purpose, what is the meaning of life? It is also possible they hold no such answers inherently, and are merely tools towards understanding the path. Surely, we are no closer now to those answers then we have been ever before, and it is our rudimentary and unimaginative thinking that has brought us to the current precipice we face; salvation or annihilation.

Most people would become terrified, angered, or scoff at the notions that I am writing. A select few may resonate, and truly it will only take a handful, that will go out and begin to indoctrinate the world into the higher realms of knowing that humans do have access to. We, a naive and young species, have not yet found a reliable path towards these realms. Navigation is challenging, if not beyond difficult, yet it is an imperative we must follow. Our hearts and minds will be the compass, guiding us to places not visited since our ancestors walked the earth. A true and glorious rejoicing awaits each of us in the promised land of non conditional existence, set up on the precepts of love and light.
